All Shibaura Machine robots use the SCOL robot programming language , similar to BASIC, to make configuration straightforward.

The controllers’ USER.PAR file allows the end user to configure application-specific parameters and functions. Integrators and users can change payload settings to adjust speed and acceleration and change communication settings to suit their set-up. Users can also configure soft limits and control modes, selecting a mode most appropriate for the task carried out by the robot.
